Greenville Technical College, Student Success Center

The Greenville Technical College Dreisbach/Anderson Student Success Center renovation consolidated essential services into a single, easily accessible location. As one of South Carolina’s largest public two-year institutions, Greenville Technical College previously had its student services scattered across multiple off-campus locations, which created challenges for student engagement and retention. This extensive 54,000 SF renovation, including a 3,000 SF addition, brings together key services. Combining student intake, financial aid, and administrative offices into a central location, the building streamlines access and encourages a sense of community among students.

Student Success Center Creates a Welcoming and Collaborative Environment

The design features flexible meeting rooms, counseling areas, computer labs, and collaboration zones. All spaces are designed to be easily reconfigured for different purposes. The spacious main corridors and lobby areas serve as social spaces, complete with a café, retail options, and comfortable seating arrangements. Amenities encourage students to stay on campus between classes, enhancing their overall college experience and cultivating a stronger sense of belonging.

Campus Connectivity and Sustainability is Part of the Plan

In alignment with Greenville Technical College’s master plan, the renovation also improves campus connectivity by creating a walkable environment. The building’s new design includes improved access from both the main vehicle entry and the campus’s pedestrian entry, making the Student Success Center a central hub for the entire campus. Sustainability was a key consideration in the project, with the incorporation of daylighting elements, energy-efficient lighting controls, and glass that reduces solar heat gain. The project earned two Green Globes, further underscoring its commitment to environmental stewardship.
