Career + Technical Education, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools
To strengthen partnerships with local and national businesses and better prepare students for future careers, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools upgraded CTE facilities at three high schools.
At Harding University High School, a revitalized classroom wing was dedicated to a new computer science program. A key feature of the renovation is a flexible technology classroom. It opens to the corridor’s new collaboration spaces through an operable wall—encouraging interaction, innovation, and engagement. The upgraded CTE learning environment supports student confidence and reinforces connections with technology industry partners across Charlotte.
South Mecklenburg High School expanded its culinary arts program with a fully equipped teaching kitchen and nutrition classroom, meeting growing student interest in hospitality and food sciences.
At Olympic High School, shop classrooms were renovated to support hands-on learning in plumbing and electrical trades. The goal of the CTE program is to support residential and home-building careers.
