Bryan County Richmond Hill Library

The Bryan County Richmond Hill Library was renovated and expanded to meet the community’s growing needs. With an additional 2,000 SF, the library now features a larger children’s department, enhanced computer access, study rooms, and quiet spaces for parents. The renovation also includes staff offices, a dedicated meeting area, a children’s zone, and a nursing room. These upgrades come as the library prepares to support growth in Bryan County and ensure it remains a vital resource for residents.

“The explosion in growth is coming and this is what people are going to need. It’s a place to congregate, meet, and learn.”
– State Representative, Ron Stephens (District 164, representing a portion of Bryan County)

Community Feedback Shapes the Richmond Hill Library Renovation

McMillan Pazdan Smith led meetings with the community, local leaders, library users, and staff, to gather input on desired improvements.

In order to enhance community involvement, McMillan Pazdan Smith partnered with Margaret Sullivan Studio for visioning and engagement efforts. This collaboration included numerous community meetings and focus groups, which directly informed the design of the renovated library. As a result, a clear roadmap for the renovation was developed, ensuring the library’s success.

Visualizing the Future and Securing Support

To bring the community’s vision to life, McMillan Pazdan Smith created detailed renderings of the renovated Richmond Hill Library. These renderings were instrumental in presenting the library’s vision to Bryan County officials, effectively highlighting the project’s value and its potential to enrich the community for years to come. Additionally, depicting the community’s vision for the library played a key role in securing state funding.
