Town of Hilton Head Island Lowcountry Celebration Park
Lowcountry Celebration Park is designed to host Hilton Head Island’s cultural festivities. The project features 8,000 SF of new structures, including a performance pavilion as the park’s focal point. The park also includes several picnic pavilions, The Sandbox Children’s Museum, and a playground.
Lowcountry Celebration Park is a Tribute to Island Heritage and Resilience
The coastal design reflects Hilton Head Island’s natural environment, rich history, and architectural traditions. By blending with the surrounding buildings, the structures enhance the island’s character while incorporating flood mitigation measures crucial for coastal resilience.
Strength and Durability in Design
Building on the island’s legacy of exposed wood and heavy timber construction, the design showcases intentionally exaggerated connections and detailing to emphasize the strength and stability of the structures. This approach not only honors local architectural practices but also ensures the durability and lasting impact of the park’s structures, reinforcing the park’s value to the community.
