A Partnership Prepares for the Future of Healthcare
The Prisma Health Center for Health and Life Sciences is a testament to the collaborative efforts between Greenville Technical College and Prisma Health, the largest employer of GTC graduates — symbolizing a significant investment in the future of healthcare education. “Thanks to the college’s partnership, the center will be a driving force in shaping not only our workforce, but the health of our community,” said Jonathan Gleason, Chief Clinical Officer for Prisma Health. “The space is wide-open, it’s beautiful, it really is an environment designed to provide an outstanding experience for learning,” he said.
Cutting-Edge Technology and Hands-On Training
Equipped with the latest in medical technology, like Anatomage 3D Lab tables which digitize real human cadavers for study, students will have ample opportunities for hands-on learning. The facility features state-of-the-art medical imaging, ultrasound, and radiological technology suites with the objective of getting GTC graduates practice ready.

A Hub for Innovation and Collaboration
“We worked closely with Greenville Technical College’s leadership, visiting peer institutions to gain knowledge of the trends and opportunities that are guiding higher education classroom and laboratory facilities. The result of our shared work is a building that will foster collaboration within an innovative environment that will inspire students and faculty to achieve their highest aspirations,” said lead architect Jeff Tiddy, Senior Associate for McMillan Pazdan Smith.
The three-story, 137,000-square-foot facility is the largest on any of the college’s campuses. It includes 36 labs and classrooms with the same level of equipment found in sophisticated healthcare system. There are spaces throughout for study, collaboration, and relaxation. The Active Learning Classroom emerged from benchmarking visits to university labs across the country. It is equipped with technology that supports instruction and media presentations from anywhere in the room, encouraging a more participatory learning experience for students.
The Greenville Technical College Prisma Health Center for Health and Life Sciences will have significant community impact as it supports innovation and excellence in healthcare education.
