Located in downtown Alpharetta, Georgia, the Maxwell is a planned 37,000 SF mixed-use development for Mayfair Street Partners. McMillan Pazdan Smith was asked to provide design services to include space for high-end mercantile goods, offices, restaurants, and retail across 4 buildings to serve a burgeoning Alpharetta economy. Situated along the Alpha Loop, a paved trail similar to the Atlanta belt line, the Maxwell is expected to provide upscale amenities to the local market.
Two single-story buildings will feature a mixture of medical, fitness, and restaurant tenants. The third building will house office, additional restaurant space, and events space on the second level. With the goal of creating a distinct retail shopping experience while satisfying stringent downtown design guidelines, the design team chose a brick stucco exterior material palette with accents of limewashed brick and standing seam metal paneling meant to evoke the style of the region’s historic mill architecture.
