St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Columbarium and Sacristy

Awarded: Brick in Architecture Award; 2015 Bronze House of Worship Award

The design of the columbarium for St. Mary’s Catholic Church reflects the architectural detailing of the 100 year old church. The covered structure consists of heavy timber beams with brick columns and is large enough for funeral services. The sacristy, a small addition at the rear of the church, provides storage and vesting space. The altar is adorned with a brick and limestone niche for a statuary display.  The design provides exterior space for worship and reflection and enhances the church through careful placement within the campus.

Subsequently, our MPS design team has completed numerous projects on St. Mary’s campus, including new construction and renovation of existing facilities. Such projects include the Parish Activities Center, the Monsignor Baum Recreation Center, the renovation of an existing gymnasium for Gallivan Hall, a state-of-the-art performing arts center, church restoration, new playground, and renovation of the Junior High School.
