Southerside Senior Living + Affordable Housing

Greenville City Council came together to approve a unique public-private partnership between Greenville Housing Fund, the City of Greenville, Truist Bank and Greystone Affordable Development. This new partnership provides a funding plan that would provide a $13.4 million loan to the Greenville Housing Fund in order to accelerate needed affordable and workforce housing developments in the area.

One of the first projects to benefit from this is Southernside East, which will be the first phase of a 132,000-square-foot, 147-unit, affordable senior living community. The new development will be located on a vacant lot at the corner of West Washington and Hudson Street, and will feature age-restricted apartments to those 55 and above. Southernside will also include residential amenities across two separate buildings that are all within walking distance of the newly developed Unity Park.
