Self Regional Healthcare, Inpatient Pharmacy

Self Regional Healthcare in Greeenwood, South Carolina upgraded its inpatient pharmacy in an existing shell space. The new pharmacy supports picking, compounding, and dispensing functions. It also includes clean rooms for IV and chemotherapy drugs. Centrally located, it ensures easier medication distribution and accommodates a growing staff.

Lean Design Charrette Accelerates Self Regional Healthcare Schedule

Congestion and lack of space in the old pharmacy caused errors in handling medications. To minimize mishaps, we led a lean design charrette after the programming phase. This helped us understand medication workflows and processes. By the end, the team and Self Regional Healthcare agreed on a schematic layout, receiving schematic design signoff.

Flexibility for Future Equipment Replacement

When a hood or piece of equipment needs to be replaced, it is critical to minimize the duration of the shutdown during the switchover so that patient medications are not delayed. To provide quick and easy access for equipment movement, wall panels are framed so that drywall sections can be opened and re-sealed with minimal re-framing.
