Prisma Health, Internal Medicine – Sunset Blvd.

Prisma Health commissioned our healthcare team for the design and construction of a renovated, 24,000 square-foot, primary care practice in a former Greenwise grocery store to serve Lexington, SC.

With the adaptive reuse of this retail-to-medical conversion, patients will have access to internal medicine, OBGYN, cardiology, and potentially other specialty providers. The new practice offers 36 Exam Rooms, Physical Therapy, Patient Education, Laboratory, X-Ray, Ultrasound, ECHO, and supporting functions including expansion of the second floor for meeting space, support areas, and future growth.

We applied Prisma’s front-of-house / back-of-house concept with standardization for an efficient reuse of the former grocery store layout. In an effort to meet the owner’s fast-paced time frame, McMillan Pazdan Smith worked through programming, planning, and design with weekly stakeholder and user-group meetings to swiftly complete both design and construction documents in approximately 3.5 months. A fast-tracked construction phase completed in Fall 2022.
