Hub City Spartanburgers, Fifth Third Park
McMillan Pazdan Smith was lead architect for one of Spartanburg’s most ambitious development projects to date. Named Fifth Third Park, the new stadium is home to the Hub City Spartanburgers, the city of Spartanburg’s first professional baseball team in over 30 years.
The ballpark is situated on a 14.5-acre lot at the intersection of West Henry Street and South Daniel Morgan Avenue. The baseball stadium’s design features a harmonious blend of brick, exposed structural steel, complemented by glass curtain walls. The design showcases an inviting and modern exterior that enhances the cityscape of Spartanburg and ties it to the nearby AC Hotel.
With a seating capacity of 3,500, the stadium hosts Single A baseball games, and other public events, providing an exciting venue for residents and visitors alike. Stadium amenities include a 6,500 SF club suite with 4,500 SF deck, a kid zone, VIP level with traditional suites, executive suites and party suite, three main concourse concession marketplaces, and a team store on the main concourse.
A new 600+ spot parking garage was also part of the project to provide parking for the stadium and the southern side of downtown Spartanburg. The first game was played on April 15, 2025.
