Design Inspired by Lowcountry Views and Community Needs
The library’s interior design draws inspiration from the local environment. With a color palette of blues and greens, the library’s interior reflects the Ashley River, marshlands, and tree canopies. This aesthetic is carried throughout the space, creating a welcoming and tranquil atmosphere for visitors of all ages.
The library’s functional spaces are also designed with the community in mind. The large, dividable meeting space serves as a flexible venue for events and programs. The children’s program area and teen space cater to the diverse needs of young patrons.
A walking trail through the woods connects the front of the library to the outdoor space near the children’s area. Visitors can engage with the natural surroundings and peaceful environment. In every detail, the Ashley River Branch Library emphasizes its community and the beauty of its location, creating a modern, functional, and nature-inspired space for learning, growth, and connection.
