A new gymnasium and wellness center for Coker College carefully sited on an expanding area at the edge of campus anchors a planned student housing expansion to serve both athletes and students. The small liberal arts college chose to combine athletic play and practice functions with student wellness needs to encourage interaction and maximize facility usage.

The 71,000 SF facility includes a main gymnasium that seats 1,908 in stadium-style retractable bleachers and an auxiliary gymnasium. Level one of the facility also includes a strength and conditioning room, a café and dining area, athletic training and rehabilitation / therapy rooms, sport-by-sport locker rooms, state-of-the-art classrooms, and more. Level two features, among other things, a large Cobra Club, athletic offices, and a walking track.

The traditional brick and block veneer structure reflects an established southern vernacular and opened in August 2014 for the Fall semester.
