City of Greer Public Safety Training Center
As public safety responsibilities continued to evolve, the City needed a dedicated training environment that would strengthen preparedness, support ongoing certification requirements, and provide realistic training opportunities for both police officers and firefighters. The goal was to create a centralized facility where first responders could train locally, improve coordination between departments, and develop the skills needed to respond effectively to a wide range of emergency situations.
A Public Safety Training Campus That Supports Specialized Training
The new training complex was programmed and designed to bring multiple training functions together on a single campus, creating opportunities for year-round instruction, hands-on exercises, and cross-department collaboration. Specialized expertise was required to integrate a secure indoor firearms training environment, live-fire training capabilities, and flexible instructional spaces while addressing the unique safety, operational, and technical requirements of each component.
The indoor firing range provides a controlled environment for firearms qualifications, tactical training, and physical fitness testing, while the fire training tower supports realistic fire, rescue, confined space, and high-angle response scenarios. Training spaces were designed to accommodate both large group instruction and smaller breakout exercises, allowing the facility to support a wide range of educational and certification programs. Together, these facilities create a comprehensive training environment that mirrors real-world conditions while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
