Auburn University, Recreation and Wellness Center

Auburn University Student Affairs merged Health Promotion and Wellness Services (HPWS) with Campus Recreation to form Campus Recreation and Wellness which resulted in a need to relocate HPWS staff to the Recreation and Wellness Center. To accommodate this move, Auburn hired our team to renovate and build-out over 6,000 square feet of space in the basement that previously housed personal training and offices.

Programming includes student support spaces, collaboration rooms, meeting spaces, staff offices, and restrooms. The scope of work also included modifying the existing lobby area and incorporating a new data closet. The space is designed to be bright, welcoming, and inviting, maximizing daylight. Additionally, integrating acoustic solutions, flexibility through the floor configuration and furniture selections, and overall functionality are paramount. Interior finishes were thoughtfully curated and selected with “wellness” in mind and incorporated biophilic patterns with natural materials. Construction started summer 2024.
