1885 Taproom
Located in the historically renovated Burdette Central, Taproom 1885 is a craft beer taproom, wine bar, and restaurant. The building’s history dates back to 1899 and was a family-owned hardware store for decades, making it a staple in the Simpsonville community. McMillan Pazdan Smith performed an adaptive reuse of this historic building to provide a family fun atmosphere for the next generation. With that in mind, the 2,500 SF space includes a custom made bar and tabletops crafted from reclaimed wood from the original space. The building’s tin ceiling also remains. In addition to the indoor space, the taproom also shares a community outdoor space with other Burdette Central partners. The space includes picnic tables, green space for lawn games, a small stage, and fire pit.
