Rising high above Greenville, South Carolina’s Warehouse District, RiverWalk at RiverPlace was the City’s first major development project in nearly three years following the economic downturn of 2008.
The new 90,000 SF mixed-use development for Hughes Investments is a seven-story building that is the first phase of a master plan for a pie-shaped parcel bounded by Camperdown, River and Rhett Streets. Conceived as a catalyst for future development in the heart of Greenville’s Historic West End, the building is an extension of the City’s transformative RiverPlace development along the banks of the Reedy River. McMillan Pazdan Smith’s design enables the building to be viewed from numerous vantage points around the City while offering its occupants exquisite views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
RiverWalk features a mix of 44 two and three-bedroom apartments, Class A office space on the top two floors and artist studios, retail and office space on the ground floor. McMillan Pazdan Smith worked with Triangle Construction in a Design-Build relationship to deliver the project, which was financed in part with New Market Tax Credits, within challenging time and budget constraints.
