MingHua USA, the first Chinese tier-one automotive supplier in South Carolina, chose McMillan Pazdan Smith to design their new, 238,000-square-foot, single-story facility in Greer, SC. As a subsidiary of Jianguan Mold Plastic Technology, one of the largest suppliers of plastic molded parts in China’s automotive industry, MingHua USA’s new facility was designed to support the manufacture of automotive parts in line with their parent company’s detailed processes and requirements, as well as the standards expected by their OEM clients.
The construction of the building is Precast concrete load-bearing panels at the exterior walls with a steel column and roof truss interior structure. The facility is air-conditioned to control the environmental conditions necessary for producing high quality automotive parts. In addition to dedicated space for injection molding, painting and first-tier parts assembly processes, the facility includes 3 overhead cranes, Automated Retreival System (ARS) high-bay storage areas, and approximately 30,000 square-feet of offices and personnel support areas.
The $24 million building was completed in 2017.
