McMillan Pazdan Smith’s conceptual design and cost estimating services have guided a phased plan for growth and commitment to athletics at Mercer University in Macon, GA. The new football stadium holds 7,200 and contains restrooms and concessions. The team designed the stadium for a maximum of 12,000 seats and a future, larger press box with a President’s Box Level. The current press box includes modern amenities for working press, coaches and officials along with a filming mezzanine.
The new field house for the football and lacrosse teams is a two story, 43,000 SF complex that houses the weight room, training room and home locker rooms for the football and lacrosse teams on the field level and coaches offices, conference rooms and team meeting rooms that double as game day suites on the upper level. Also included is a 4,700 SF physical therapy and rehabilitation suite for the entire campus community. The stadium and field house designs contextually blend with the modern gothic style prevalent on the Mercer campus.
