A new 10 story, 114 room hotel will serve as a gateway to Spartanburg’s west end, changing the city’s skyline and serving as a catalyst for activity in the “Grain District” of downtown.
The new AC Hotel by Marriott is a collaboration between David M. Schwarz Architects as Design Architect and McMillan Pazdan Smith for production, coordination and construction administration services. This is the third building created by the team, combining talents for the Spartanburg community. The hotel will include pedestrian oriented access to retail and restaurants in the vicinity and provide outdoor dining, amenities, and a landscaped street level garden. Designed to blend with the historic nature of a Southern city, the building incorporates traditional exterior materials and includes a signature restaurant, outdoor pool, fitness room, terrace and a rooftop bar with a 360 degree view of the city.
OTO Development is the developer and operator for the $35 million project, which was completed in December 2017.
