A new mixed-use development is now open to Greenville’s North Main area. 225 efficiency, one, two and three bedroom apartments, as well as 21,000 square feet of retail space will grace the corner of Stone Avenue and Main Street following the city’s Stone Avenue Master Plan.
Simulated natural materials were incorporated into the design including brick, hardi board and shake, similar to those found on many of the surrounding single family homes. The three bedroom apartments facing Rowley Street will take on the appearance of single family residences, helping ease the transition from commercial to residential. On the Main Street side the units have a more modern design aesthetic. A long four-story building runs the length of North Main, with large windows and entryways with street side access.
The 225 apartments share a community pool, parking deck, amenity space such as a club house and fitness facilities, and each have a private balcony or outdoor space. Upscale interior finishes such as granite counter top, black or stainless appliances and wood look flooring have been incorporated used.
It was important to take into consideration traffic, connectivity and density for the plan, as well as accommodating the Stone Master Plan and neighborhood resident’s expectations. The retail component will wrap around the Stone at Main intersection, where most of the project’s density will be concentrated.
