Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine

The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine turned to McMillan Pazdan Smith to design their new 74,000 SF Carolinas Campus in Spartanburg, SC.  Designed as a satellite campus of the Blacksburg, VA Institution whose focus is the training of primary care physicians to serve a rural Appalachian population, the new facility is situated on 18.7 acres, the former home of a 19th century textile mill.

Organized around an elevated outdoor plaza, the new facility provides education space for the four year postgraduate medical school curriculum and includes two 220-person lecture halls, classrooms, mock exam rooms, an anatomy lab, faculty and administrative offices and associated support spaces.
