Greenville Humane Society Gets a Refresh
McMillan Pazdan Smith made the very most of limited time, budget, and square footage in designing a new home for the Greenville Humane Society as the organization rebranded itself as Greenville’s only no-kill animal shelter. The project represents a public renewal effort of significant community interest.
The renovated, 10,000 SF warehouse includes an adoption center to accommodate approximately 60 cats and dogs, a dynamic lobby with retail space, veterinary clinic with two surgery suites, additional kennel space for rescued animals receiving veterinary care, and support spaces for staff and volunteers.
The creative use of readily available and durable materials, detailed in interesting ways, provided significant cost savings. The improvements in functionality and aesthetics have greatly enhanced the efficiency and pleasure of animal care for the Humane Society staff.
“The team of McMillan Pazdan Smith, Erwin-Penland, Dailey & Associates, and Harper Corporation dramatically transformed an existing warehouse into a cool, boutique-like space that has wowed first time visitors.”
