Niki Posten found the ideal architect for her minimalist masterpiece of a home by way of a car dealership in Fletcher.
?I was sitting in the BMW showroom, waiting for my car to be serviced, and I looked around and said to myself, ?I could live in this building,?? she recalled.
She learned that the man who designed the BMW of Asheville building was retired, but she got in touch with one of the man’s protegés, Carleton Collins, the director of the Asheville office of McMillan, Pazdan, Smith Architecture.
The meeting ?was just instant perfection,? she said. ?We had a design in mind and told him to tweak our idea with his ideas and in no time at all he showed us two rough sketches.?
