Airport renovation underway

South Carolina’s oldest commercial airport is finally getting a makeover. Spartanburg officials today broke ground on a $4.5 million project at Spartanburg Downtown Memorial Airport that will include a new terminal and 20 T-hangars.

?This is how corporate America meets Spartanburg,? said Airport Director Darwin Simpson. ?They don?t travel by bus, train or automobile.?
